Wrestlers In WWF Superstars Arcade

I will never forget the first time a walked into our local arcade and saw WWF Superstars for the first time. There was a big crowd of teenagers around this one game and they were living and dying with each body slam. WWF Superstars was like no other wrestling arcade game before it and believe it or not the graphics and moves were pretty groundbreaking for 1989.

The wrestlers actually looked and acted like their real-life counterparts which was what made the game such a huge hit. Hulk Hogan would play to the crowd with his trademark ear pose, the Ultimate Warrior would pound his chest before performing his Guerilla Press, it was simply amazing to play as a kid of that generation. It was a spectacle if players made it all the way to the end to face Andre The Giant and the Million Dollar Man. The pressure was unreal as you probably spent all-day feeding the arcade machine quarters to finally get your shot at the ridiculous hard Mega Bucks tag team.

Let’s relive this gem which to this day is one of the best wrestling arcade games ever made.
